- From Mexico: If you're traveling within Mexico, direct flights to La Paz are available from cities like Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Tijuana.

 

Upon arrival, you can easily reach the city by taxi, rental car, or pre-arranged transportation. The airport is located just 20 minutes from the city center and marinas, making your transition to your charter smooth and convenient.

When is the best time to travel to La Paz, Baja California, Mexico?

 

The best time to sail in La Paz is from mid-February to late June or from mid-October to late December. You’ll enjoy long, hot summers, short and pleasant winters, and perfect sea temperatures to make the most of your experience!

 

Temperatures in La Paz during the summer average around 32°C (89.6°F) between May and October, sometimes even reaching 38°C (100.4°F). You’ll also love the fantastic sea temperatures, above 26°C (78.8°F).

The weather is drier in the low season, between December and February, while still keeping pleasant temperatures, averaging around 26°C (78.8°F). Around 90% of La Paz’s rainfall occurs between July and October.

Mónica, co-owner of the catamaran Tango, was born in Spain, is a marketing professional, a certified maritime captain and diver, and a lover of life at sea and attention to detail. With over 10 years of experience in the charter world, under her belt. She will take care of every aspect for her guests onboard, ensuring everything is provided to make you feel at home.

 

Diego, co-owner of the catamaran, is an engineer by profession, a professional captain, born in Argentina to German parents, and has lived in Europe for over 20 years. A passionate cook and owner of restaurants in Barcelona and Lérida, Catalonia, he is a dedicated student of nature and marine life. Having sailed around the world for more than 10 years, he will ensure everything runs smoothly onboard and will plan the best route tailored to your preferences and desires for an unforgettable experience.

Our professional Mexican chef with a complete dedication to pleasing and offering kindness and friendliness to our guests.

FOOD

The high-quality food includes a wide selection of fruits, vegetables, meats and seafood. Popular appetizers, snacks at all times (fruits, cheeses, sauces, chips, cookies, crackers). You will enjoy fresh fish and fresh seafood, according to seasonal catch and barbecues of steak. Food is purchased fresh for each charter, so we create unique menus that can be catered in advance. If you and your guests have dietary restrictions or preferences , we will easily accommodate your request one week before the charter.

ROUTE & DURATION

While some of our trips are shorter, catamaran Tango specializes in 4 nights trips. This is the ideal amount of time to start in Malecón of La Paz, cross over to the Isla Espíritu Santo to the top stops and back to Malecón of La Paz.

 4-Day Catamaran Charter Itinerary

– La Paz, Baja California Sur -

 

Embark on a stunning 4-day sailing adventure through the pristine waters of the Sea of Cortez. Departing from the vibrant Malecón of La Paz, this journey will take you to some of the most breathtaking spots in Baja California Sur. With crystal-clear waters, abundant marine life, and secluded anchorages, this route offers an unforgettable experience of tranquility and exploration.

 

Embark Day : La Paz to Balandra Bay (7 NM/1,5 hours)

We begin our voyage by setting sail from the Malecón of La Paz and heading to Balandra Bay, just 7 nautical miles away. Balandra is famous for its iconic mushroom-shaped rock and turquoise waters. Spend the afternoon swimming, paddleboarding, hiking, or simply relaxing on the beach.

 

Day 1: Balandra to La Lobera (12 NM/2 hours), La Lobera to Ensenada Grande (6 NM/1 hour)

In the morning, we sail 12 nautical miles north to La Lobera, a popular spot to observe sea lions in their natural habitat. Afterward, we continue sailing 6 nautical miles to Ensenada Grande, a serene bay on Isla Partida, known for its vibrant coral reefs and perfect snorkeling conditions. This secluded bay offers a peaceful anchorage for the night.

 

Day 2: Ensenada Grande to Isla San Francisco (15 NM/3 hours)

After breakfast, we sail 15 nautical miles to the picturesque Isla San Francisco. With its white sandy beach and crystal-clear waters, this island is ideal for hiking, snorkeling, and kayaking. Enjoy a scenic walk along the island’s ridge for panoramic views of the surrounding seas.

 

 Day 3: Isla San Francisco to La Partida (21 NM/3,5 hours), La Partida to Candelero (5 NM/40 min), Gallo Gallina (4 NM/30 min)

We follow our adventure in the mornning, to La Partida, or to Candelero, where the pristine beach and clear waters offer perfect snorkeling and paddleboarding conditions. Afterward, we stop at Gallo Gallina (4 NM), to enjoy an amazing hiking, spend the sunset and the night

Day 4: Gallo Gallina (4 NM/30 min), Playa Despensa (7 NM/1,5 hours), return to La Paz (15 NM/3 hours)

On our final day, we make our way to Playa Despensa (7 NM) for a final dip in the calm waters before sailing the final 15 nautical miles back to the Malecón of La Paz.

 

Total Distance: 85 Nautical Miles

Our rate is €1000 per boat/day + €250 per person/day
 

INCLUDES: Captain, deckhand/cook, all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks between meals), 3 double cabins with private bathrooms, sofa bed in the salon, bed linens, a set of bath and beach towels, hygiene products, floating mat, fishing rod, 2 Stand-up paddleboards, double kayak, fuel, and dinghy.

  • Air conditioning: €200/night

Pricing is all inclusive, plus Mexico taxes. Christmas and New Years are subject to a holiday premium.
